The Dole Plantation
Where many of our pineapples come from. They grow out of these weird bushes and not from trees like most people think. Here is an ity bity one.
A Eucalyptus tree which has rainbow colored bark.
Oh the places to go!
My dad told me to make sure we tried some of the pineapple ice cream so why we decided to go all out and and get a pineapple split. It was huge and delicious. It was in half a pineapple with chunks of fresh pineapple at the bottom which made it that much better.
We conquered it with no problem. One of Hawaii's must haves.
After we were all finished at the plantation we were waiting for the bus and we decided to try hitchhiking. We see people doing it almost everyday on the side of the road so we decided why not? We tried to our thumbs out for only trucks and non sketchy looking cars.
This is what ends up pulling over. We start to freak out a little bit but turns out it's two Brazilian Surfers who are headed in just the direction we need. They look nice enough so we crawl in the back with their piles of surfer boards and hold on for the ride. They take us to sunset beach and ask if we minded that they stay and chill with us. We decided we didn't, they were actually good and interesting company. After sitting on the beach for a while we went down the street and had dinner at the famous Ted's Bakery.
Known for their chocolate haupia pie, which I tried later on, they also have good food.
We took our food and watched the sun set and continued to learn about surfing and Brazil
Here we are with Jose!
They say to be careful about hitch hiking but our first time was quite successful and way better than riding the bus.
Brazilian surfers...yeah, I'd call that a success.
